About Holistic Approach to Mental Health, LLC
Leah’s Evolving Focus
Leah has shifted her focus to not only prioritize the high-achieving woman—often carrying the invisible weight of success, family, and expectations—but also to ensure that she leaves a legacy of wholeness, inner peace, deep healing, and renewal.
In 2025, Leah underwent a life-changing event that highlighted the importance of aligning success with peace, family harmony, and making the world a better place right where you are.
Considering the societal focus on the external—status, performance, and appearances—Leah emphasizes the deeper need for wholeness. Her work calls high achievers, change makers, influencers, storytellers, and therapists to re-center not just on what they accomplish, but on who they become and what they leave behind.
She has led mothers and daughters, fathers and sons through healing conversations and integrative sessions designed to break generationally distorted stories. These sacred family encounters often become turning points—releasing cycles of pain and creating pathways toward connection, compassion, inner peace, and deep healing.
Our Mission
At Holistic Approach to Mental Health, we provide trauma-informed, evidence-based, and integrative care that nurtures the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. We serve individuals, families, and groups in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and virtually across Texas.
Founded by Leah A. Ondiek, M.S., LPC-S, our practice supports clients through life’s most difficult transitions with compassion, cultural humility, and proven therapeutic tools.
Our History
From a young age, Leah felt called to help others—but discovering how to serve meaningfully took time, growth, and heart.
She began her career in education, supporting students and teachers, but quickly recognized the unspoken emotional burdens they carried. Later, in corporate America, she helped individuals build financial security—yet again witnessing how deeper emotional wounds often remained unseen.
What began in 2017 as Leah’s vision for Holistic Approach to Mental Health became, by 2021, a recognized multispecialty practice committed to advancing whole-person wellness and trauma-informed healing.
Leah’s love for learning and service is deeply shaped by her family of origin. Her late father was an educator, human resource expert, consultant, and author of Management Dynamics: Towards Efficiency, Effectiveness, Competence and Productivity. Her mother has been a teacher for more than 55 years, modeling resilience, discipline, and devotion to education.
This family legacy of wisdom and service laid the foundation for Leah’s calling as a counselor, educator, and speaker — and continues to inspire her work today as a bridge connector, generational legacy shifter, and therapist.

Our Passion
At Holistic Approach, we believe healing begins when people feel safe, seen, and supported. We help clients break through emotional cycles and access their full potential—without shame, without pressure, and without having to do it alone.
“You’ll never know what’s on the other side of your nervous system unless you take a leap of faith. I did—and I’m forever grateful for those who believed in me before I could see it for myself—and for giving myself a chance to experience the best my nervous system had to offer.”

She treasures time with her girls — cheering on their unique dreams, goofing around, and creating joyful memories together. She also shares life with her life partner, embracing laughter, growth, and togetherness in their journey.
She loves to travel and learn about new places, often finding inspiration for healing and perspective in different cultures. Her favorite escapes are the beach and the outdoors, where she feels most alive and at peace. Growing up, she spent summers at Lake Victoria in East Africa — experiences that shaped her love for water, reflection, and the sacred beauty of nature.
Leah is equally at home in times of reflection and silent retreats, where she can sit in stillness, listen deeply, and reset her spirit. She also welcomes new experiences with curiosity and joy, embodying both rest and renewal.
Her passions include reading, writing, soul cooking, and watching animal nature shows — all practices that feed her curiosity and sense of connection. She also loves dancing, working out, Zumba, and Tai Chi, which keep her grounded, embodied, and playful.

Her late father was an educator, human resource expert, consultant, and author of Management Dynamics: Towards Efficiency, Effectiveness, Competence and Productivity. Her mother has been a teacher for more than 55 years, modeling resilience, discipline, and devotion to education. Leah honors them as models of wisdom and dedication — values she carries into her own work as a bridge connector, generational legacy shifter, and therapist.
